Burnt sienna is honoured to invite international artist Natasha Kuchko to lead a master class in oil portraiture this autumn. This unique opportunity for Berlin residents will give participants the opportunity to learn and hone traditional skills and techniques that are all but forgotten and not taught in school. Kuchko trained in Florence and will bring her unique trained skill set to the Burnt Sienna school this October. The face and the hands are the most challenging parts in the painting practice. Through them we are able to express our emotions, communicate with just a gaze and make a sign that will be immediately understood. In this course we will try to gain more confidence in the painting and drawingdrawingidthe portrait and hands through coping the great masters of the past as Anthony Van Dyck, Velazquez, Rubens and more recent Zorn and Sargent.
